Smallfolk is the common name for for different sentient spieces, all shorter than the average human. They are, from tallest to shortest: Halflings, Hobbits, Goblins and Gnomes.
What they all have in common is that they were all created by gods inspired by the already existing humans and by each other.
All of the above is subject to change as I get used to the idea. This post is of the “type first think later” variety.

Having all 4 of them sounds a bit excessive, imo. I’d say cut it down to 2. Goblins and Gnomes. Have halfling be a derogatory racial slur for them, which was used alot in the past but in the more civilized modern days is considered to no longer be politically correct.

The gobins are still go, but need more work.
The hobbits are also go and also need more work. However, for now, let’s say that they are inspired by how they are portrayed in Tolkien’s books. The hobbits were created at around or slightly after the humans started living in buildings rather than caves. Their creator is Anna, Goddess of Lazy Afternoons and Other Simple Pleasures.
